Show & Shine

Have a vintage car that you would like to showcase? Enter your classic or custom vehicle, truck, or motorcycle into Hats Off Day’s most popular attraction – Show & Shine!

The deadline to reserve and guarantee your space is May 16.

Important Information and Guidelines

The Show & Shine takes place rain or shine on Hastings Street between Willingdon and Gamma Avenue from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Hastings Street will be closed off from Boundary Road to Holdom Street beginning at 8:30 a.m. The Show & Shine Registration and Assembly will take place between 8:30 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. at Alpha Secondary School, which is located at 930 Alpha St at Parker St.

Vehicles will leave Alpha School as the Hats Of Day parade is nearing completion, and vehicles will follow the parade on Hastings St. toward Willingdon Ave. until you are directed to park. Once the cars leave Alpha School, we are not able to permit any late entrants into the Show & Shine due to public safety reasons.

Once the show begins, volunteer judges will inspect the vehicles after they are parked on Hastings Street. Judging is for fun, and trophies will be awarded to the top category winners at the Elvis Stage.

How to Apply

Registration is $30 for vehicles and $25 for motorcycles, with proceeds donated to Burnaby Community Services.

There are two ways to sign up for Show & Shine:

  • Reserve your spot in advance: Please complete and submit the attached entry form and your entry fee. Submit either in-person or by mail to the Heights Merchants Association by May 19.
  • On-the-day-of registration: Available at Alpha Secondary School (930 Alpha St.) between 8:30 am -10:00 am on June, 3rd.

By participating, you agree to take full responsibility for your classification for judging purposes. For safety and security reasons, participants must park where directed and may not leave early, as this puts pedestrians at risk during this busy street festival.
